I am a Registered Psychotherapist providing psychodynamic psychotherapy for individuals, by telephone . I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, bereavement, anger, addictions and trauma. I also assist people in their understanding of how these and other such difficulties can affect their relationships with themselves (low self esteem), and with others (families, friends and colleagues) and vice versa. This understanding opens up the avenues for change that you may be looking for. I believe that we all have a natural striving for health, but often lose connection with it due to life's vicissitudes.
I have been in this field for over 20 years, having trained in London, England and Toronto. Certifications in brief treatment modalities like CBT, anger management and grief recovery, provide me with skills that I use as an adjunct to psychodynamic, open ended psychotherapy, at times when it is useful.
I have extensive experience with people from varied backgrounds and life situations, encompassing race, religion, culture, sexual identity and gender. I am sensitive to diversity and difference, while at the same time recognising that which is similar in all of us. I would love to hear from you.
