Hello! I appreciate you taking the time to learn about me and my practice. My name is Sam (she/her), I’m a Registered Counselling Therapist (candidate) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and a professional member with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and that success in therapy is often associated to the therapeutic relationship. In my practice I believe everyone has the inherent capacity for growth, empowerment, and connection to self and others. As such, I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you feel seen and heard.

I work with couples and individuals 18+, both in person and virtually. I have experience working with relationship conflict, recovery from intimate partner violence, trauma, anxiety, depression, self-worth issues, emotional regulation, Identity issues and more.

I use a comprehensive approach to therapy, meaning I pull from a variety of theoretical approaches with the intention to meet your needs in the best possible way. Change can be scary, and as your counsellor, I am here to listen to your story, help you unpack how disconnection is affecting your life, and work together to plan a new way forward.
