Do you love your child when they have tantrums, shouting that they hate you? Do you feel like you’re not good enough as a caregiver when your child is sad, anxious, unwilling to talk to you? Before being a child therapist, I was an early childhood educator caring for eight and more children with different temperaments, just by myself. I felt the pain of feeling helpless and alone that would drown me when facing a child’s crying and screaming for hours right in front of you. People on the street are "evaluting" your caregiving. None of the “popular” techniques - “take a deep breath,” “stay calm,” “give consequences” - seemed to work.
Driven by my curiosity about human emotions and behaviour, I processed my own childhood experiences and how my parents’ coping styles shaped the way I regulated emotions. I became a therapist to support children 3+ in emotional expression and regulation, and help people explore their own emotional patterns to establish healthier relationship.
I understand the courage it takes to face your vulnerability as a parent. You may choose to face them alone to protect yourself from criticism, but it may somehow create distance with your child. I'm committed to offering a safe space to understand your child together. I hope to accompany you, at your own pace, toward a more connected relationship.
