You keep things running for everyone else — but underneath, you’re running on EMPTY. You show up. You take care of things. You do what needs to get done. But inside, you may be carrying more than anyone sees.
Do you do more than your share just to keep things calm? Think carefully about how to say things so no one gets upset? Put your own NEEDS aside because it feels easier than speaking up? From the outside, it may look like you have it together. But inside, you feel drained, stuck in your head, or tired of always adjusting. You might think: Why do I keep going along with things I’m not okay with? Why is it so hard to say what I
need? Why do I feel guilty just for having needs? You’ve likely tried to handle this on your own — thinking things through, setting boundaries, or pushing through. Maybe it helps. But it doesn’t last. For some, this shows up as overthinking, feeling stretched thin, or losing yourself in relationships. For others, especially men, it can look like keeping
everything in, feeling frustrated or shut down, and having nowhere to be honest about what’s going on. I work with adults who are used to being the strong one for others, but are tired of carrying this on their own. Therapy with me is a place to understand what is going on and make changes that feel steady, real, and lasting. I offer free consults!
