Ponderosa Counselling Services focuses on counselling adults and adolescents through anxiety, depression, trauma resolution, and relationship issues while moving toward balancing the felt sense of emotions in body and the rational processes we use to interpret ourselves in the world.
My approach to healing isn't one size fits all. It requires hearing and understanding client perspectives in order to tailor a plan that will actually work with client strengths and capacities, drawing tools from a variety of approaches including Internal Family Systems, Somatic-focused EMDR, mindfulness, and CBT.
I spent 15 years in engineering, and worked in sawmills, renovations contracting, mechanics, solar power, and park development. I’ve taught martial arts and self-defense, and have travelled to 30 different countries. I’ve lived the challenges of marriage, divorce, family mental health and substance use, and am a half-time single parent of two young children.
