Are you dealing with a sexual issue? Does your partner want more sex than you do? Are you struggling to reach orgasm? Is sex painful, impossible, or simply not fun or pleasurable? Perhaps you’re worried about the impact of these problems on your relationship, or you know that a satisfying sex life is really important to you. Maybe it feels like you’re missing out on something important that everyone else seems to be enjoying. You’re not sure what’s normal, where to get help, or what to do.
Counselling with me is a safe place to discuss sexual concerns. I spent much of my graduate training learning about female sexual problems. Some common treatments for these concerns include CBT, mindfulness, and relevant sexuality education. Together, we can identify the factors influencing your concern, set achievable goals, and explore various solutions.
I do telehealth counselling, which means I can see you no matter where you are in Alberta. This also decreases issues like parking, weather, childcare, germs, and even running into me in public. Mindfulness for Women's Desire Concerns--date TBD
The goal of this group is to encourage participants to (re)connect and engage with their sexuality by (1) learning and practicing mindfulness exercises to cultivate present-moment awareness, acceptance of what is, self-compassion, and stress reduction; (2) learning accurate and current information on women’s sexuality and sexual response; (3) discussing the ways that sexual interest and motivation are influenced by thoughts, feelings and behaviours; (4) reflecting on the role of women’s intimate relationships on current sexual concerns; and (5) capitalizing on the therapeutic benefit of group exchange, modeling, and support.
