Asking for help can be one of the hardest things to do - I’m glad you are making that first step! My therapy room is a safe and accepting space where there is no agenda to change or "cure" you. It is to see you, as you are. My goal is that you feel seen and understood. Many clients come to me describing themselves as depressed, overwhelmed, stressed, stuck or anxious. Most are surprised that I don't try to ’get rid' of these symptoms, but that every part is welcome and has an important story to share. Through mindfulness we bring awareness to these feelings, to understand and embrace them to enable healing at a deeper level.
We'll explore how negative thought patterns and behaviours develop as a reaction to the trauma you have experienced - big or small. While it may feel like you are lacking something or there is something wrong with you, there is not! By acknowledging how these adaptations have shaped you, you can have self compassion and start healing wounds that lie beneath.
My hope is that you can be free from your pain so you can let go of the patterns that no longer serve you and have a deeper level of self-understanding, healing and authenticity. I'm excited to start this journey with you!
