The executive functioning intervention is available to late high school and post-secondary students. Executive functioning is subdivided into multiple, diverse skills, namely, working memory (updating), shifting (cognitive flexibility), and inhibition (ability to “put on the breaks”). Executive functioning skills play an important role in student success, as students are required to set, plan for, and work towards achieving long-term goals. The intervention combines Goal Management Training (Levine et al., 2000, 2011) with the Dynamic Coaching approach (Kennedy, 2017) to provide a program that involves didactic and personalized cognitive remediation, as well as enhancing student motivation.
