Clients in my practice are from diverse backgrounds who have experienced traumatic events that are adversely impacting their personal sense of who they are, their relationships, both personal and professional. They usually have a history of ancestral and intergenerational violence and seek therapy for resolve issues such as historic and current sexual/violence, intimate relational violence, trafficking, trauma related to war and conflict, workplace violence, discrimination and harassment. The clients are seeking to make sense of their lived experiences, recover their agency and power to live a wholesome life with dignity and respect
I am a survivor, who has integrated her experiences of violence. I am a highly competent psychotherapist trained in different forms of therapy, such as clinical traumatology, EMDR, cognitive therapy, feminist therapy, emotional freedom technique, EFT and other integrative therapies. I can bear witness to & facilitate trauma recovery with compassion and care.
Integral to my approach is the belief that clients lose their agency through 'no fault of their own' and can regain their sense of resiliency using mindfulness, breath awareness, yogic breathing to facilitate the disruption of the triangulation of the past, present and future. I coach, model/teach life skills using an anti-colonial & identity politics lens.
