Tansi! I am a woman of both Métis and settler (Scottish/Irish/British) heritage, with matrilineal connections to the Red River Métis settlement. My practice is based on creating safer spaces for you to share your story, express your emotions, and care for all aspects of your well-being. My practice includes integrating somatic practices, play-based practices, Narrative Therapy, Resurgence theory, and trauma-informed practice to co-create a supportive approach to healing. I have extensive experience supporting Indigenous peoples, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, and persons across the lifespan, including children and youth.
I have ten years experience in frontline work in Winnipeg, primarily in health care and hospital settings, child welfare, crisis counselling and support, harm reduction, land-based programming, and supporting women, children, and youth who have experienced intimate partner violence, family violence, and sexual violence.
As I have previously worked within complex systems and understand the harms and moral injuries that can occur in helping work, I invite those who support others and work in helping fields to reach out for support in navigating situations of vicarious trauma, secondary exposure trauma, and trauma, stress, and harms resulting from work experiences.
