What you are is what you have been. What you’ll be is what you do now. -Buddha Changes in our lives is one thing that is inevitable and guaranteed to happen. It can feel hard and overwhelming at times. Taking care of oneself is about treating and caring for our entire being-our emotional, mental, physical. Whether you are going through a separation/divorce, starting a new relationship, or dealing with the pressures of family and cultural expectations, you are not alone. As a South Asian woman I understand the impact culture (family/extended family, community, religion, gender roles) can have on our decision making and life choices.

My goal is to build a therapeutic relationship with you, where you can find the means to self-compassion, self-care and forgiveness.
We all have our own stories and experiences that contribute to who we are and how we face challenges. Sometimes, we get so lost in the difficulties of the outside world that we forget to take care of our inner self. This can lead to us struggling with things such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, identity-based oppression, stress management, relationship concerns, immigrant struggles, and life changes. I understand how challenging these difficulties can be, and I am passionate about helping others move from fighting with their feelings to reaching their own inner peace.

Do you feel trapped in a cycle of strained relationship? You feel like people in your life are pushing your triggers and it is causing you more distress than bringing you peace. This type of anxiety, anger, stress, sadness can take a toll on you. No matter what you are doing, you end up feeling like the bad person every single time. You feel like you are not enough in the relationship and you feel like you are the only one wanting this relationship to work. When there is past trauma or the other person is not willing to work with you, healing and moving forward becomes harder. We start wondering if we are the problem.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
