I do not work with police officers, security guards, peace officers, or prison employees. We might be a good therapeutic fit if you are at the onset of considering a life event in a new light; if you're trying to navigate systems of oppression with grace for yourself; if you're looking for support in finding a sweet spot between codependence and individualism in your relationships; or if you're just looking to be kept company in the hard parts of being a person.
I am an abolitionist and I use systemic, person-centred/humanistic, somatic, solutions-focused, and feminist therapies. I completed a 400-hour practicum at the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton as part of my graduate program at Athabasca University and am also an advanced level student of Somatic Experiencing.
You can expect me to ask you "how" questions and be willing to crack the odd joke with you about your tried, tested, and true coping strategies. It takes a great deal of chutzpah to begin a therapeutic journey and I wish you all the best in yours whether it involves me or not!
