I have had the pleasure of working with a highly variable spectrum of individuals. My experience includes work with youth/adults in the correctional system, in-patient treatment facilities, outpatient treatment facilities, NCRMD forensic care homes, and private consulting for individuals ranging from 16-65. I do not have an "ideal" client. I thrive on being challenged, and exploring the human sciences allows me that challenge, regardless of clientele. Over the last year, I have developed my education in child and youth mental health intervention and counselling as well.
My background is in criminal psych., with emphasis on mental health and substance-use intervention in an incarceration setting. Further to that, I have applied pre-designed programs to in-patient and out-patient clients, with emphasis on a variety of therapeutic approaches, as well as personally developed a two year diploma program and out-patient treatment.
Completing these profiles always presents as so incredibly formal to me. My approach is client-focused; this means I will meet you where you're at (included, but not limited to: crying on the side of a street corner because that just happens to be what you need in that moment). I pride myself on connection, the ability to motivate, and raw, genuine honesty.
