My name is Rand Al-Houssan (she/her). I am the founder and service provider at Mindful Map Counselling, with nearly a decade of experience in a wide range of mental health settings, including non-profit, academic, research, crisis and healthcare. My specialized training, diverse portfolio, and multi-cultural competency offers unique insight into many types of struggles affecting children, youth and adults. I completed advanced education and training at internationally recognized institutions, and I actively undertake ongoing professional development. I help my clients to process their emotions, gain clarity, and find balance.
My areas of specialization with children, youth and adults include anxiety, depression, complex trauma, attachment/relationships, and racial identity. I integrate evidence-based modalities within a client-focused, trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive framework. I have experience offering individual, group, and play/art therapy in three languages.
I provide a warm and grounding atmosphere while working collaboratively with each client to help them mindfully map their thoughts, emotions, and needs. As someone who is known as a "calm, good listener", I carefully attune to my clients and provide them with a comfortable, confidential, and non-judgmental space to discuss issues at their own pace.
