Hello! My name is Rana Khan. I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist. I have specialized training in Couples and Family Therapy. The clients I serve are mostly couples and families or individuals who have concerns/issues with their relationships. I have helped clients explore tips/tools/strategies that has helped improve their communication, intimacy, and emotional connection. I have also supported clients in finding meaning as they recover from an emotional hurt, deal with loss, go through an affair, or manage other external stressors such as family, work, health, culture, and/or religion.
I offer a goal-directed, solution-focused, collaborative, narrative and emotion-focused approach. I focus on recurring patterns, themes, and assumptions that may be interfering with a preferred way of being. This often involves discursive dialogue, role-play, enactments, and using the therapeutic space as a practise arena to live your preferred way of being.
I have been told that I have a calming presence. I strive to be compassionate and caring, flexible and pragmatic, composed and direct, and hope that therapy can feel like a tailor-made process for you. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is central to psychotherapy, and will work hard to maintain that alliance between me and you.
