I am carrying a waitlist for psycho-educational assessments (approx 2-4 mo) with most families being seen sooner. I am not accepting new therapy clients at this time.
I am passionate about working with children, youth, young adults, and their families to help them understand and cope with a variety of concerns. I received my Ph.D. in School and Clinical-Child Psychology from the University of Toronto and completed my residency out here in beautiful British Columbia with Child and Youth Mental Health in 2007.
I use scientifically supported treatments to address a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues. I draw on a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) techniques.
I believe in understanding the whole child, which is why I am thrilled to be able to offer psycho-educational assessments, as well as therapy, for children, youth, and young adults. Recommendations in my assessments go beyond the school setting and include strategies for families and peer dynamics, based on the outcome of their profile and any diagnoses.
