I am an Occupational Therapist (OT) whose focus is working with individuals with neurological differences, with a specific focus on ADHD, anxiety and brain injury. I work with my clients to help them better understand their brain, how it functions and to support with developing strategies to overcome the challenges associated with neuro differences and enable them to thrive. I use aspects of cognitive retraining, functional rehabilitation and skill building, as well as in various mental health techniques including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness practice and exposure therapy.
My goal as an OT is to support individuals to improve their participation and effectiveness completing activities that they want and need to do. My treatment encompasses education, skill building, cognitive training, problem solving for strategies to support with managing symptoms, optimizing function and supporting psycho-emotional wellbeing.
I developed a passion for working with people with ADHD after my husband was diagnosed as an adult and we struggled to find therapists that had an understanding of the unique challenges that he was facing as a result of his ADHD.
