Finding a counsellor that is a good fit can be challenging! It is important to enter a counselling relationship with someone who shares your values. I believe that people are not problems and strive to create an inclusive space to be yourself without judgement. I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults who seek help exploring issues such as self confidence, gender identity, sexual orientation, relationships, stress, anger, anxiety, divorce, and family conflict. I am affirming and celebratory of diverse identities, communities, and relationship structures.

Accepting clients. Hello, thanks for being here. Using an attachment based lens, my approach to therapy is one that is collaborative, and supported to tailor each individual's needs. Some of the people I have worked with involve women and children, couples, people struggling with alcoholism, person's enduring custody and co-parenting. I'm also able to counsel pertaining to trauma. I also counsel couples w/ varying communication styles & endured childhood difficulties growing up. This can act as a lens how we show up today, in our lives and relationships with self/others, and within work dynamics.

Therapy is an opportunity to unlearn and re-write our self-limiting stories. I help people to identify, challenge, and replace their well-worn narratives (i.e.: "I'm not good enough", "I don't belong", "my needs don't matter") with more adaptive ( and accurate! ) beliefs. With compassion, skill, and a healthy dose of humour, I invite people to get curious about the parts of themselves that feel stuck in survival mode. By befriending these parts and honouring their self-protective strategies, they inevitably learn to soften the list of "shoulds", judgements, reactivity, and fears.

Accepting new clients. I am a supportive and collaborative helper for those seeking assistance or solutions to life challenges. In partnering with me, I aim to facilitate a safe environment for you to explore values, identities and experiences and how that may contribute to new discoveries and growth. Therapy takes a lot of courage and strength and I want to walk alongside you as you process emotions, learn about yourself and express your thoughts. I also practice EMDR, which allows individuals to process memories or negative events.

Are you in the process of understanding who you are? Or working on making things feel easier for yourself? Welcome! I work with people just like you to empower, understand and nourish their rare and original intricacies. I act as a collaborator to support clients in finding tools that are attainable and accessible. I work to create a safe landing to be witnessed, seen, and imperfect. Every part of you is welcome here. I believe that healing is nonlinear and that everyone is entitled to process and cope with their lives uniquely; there is no one right way.

You’re managing career, family, and social expectations–and still–that voice in your head (that loud and all-consuming voice) says, “Not enough.” That’s not you being dramatic – it’s your inner critic. Though it tries to keep you safe, it also keeps you stuck, pulling you away from a fruitful life. I’m Rachelle Bauer, a Canadian Certified Counsellor and health coach. I help women impacted by modern-day pressures untangle beliefs holding them back from living a balanced, fulfilling life. Let’s make room for curiosity and compassion and learn what it means to truly thrive. Even better if we can do this in nature, away from the noise.

We all experience difficult events in our lives. Some of these events happened a long time ago, and have influenced the way that we interact with ourselves and the world. Some of these events are more recent and throw us off the course we were on. We can become stuck in ways of being that are no longer helpful to us end up causing distress. I believe therapy can be a helpful way to process what has or is happening in our lives and encourage healthy adaptation and growth, so we can live our lives with more peace, happiness and connection.

Finding a therapist can be a daunting task, especially if you are new to therapy and not sure how to find the right fit. My goal is to offer you a safe space to determine what you hope to gain from therapy and how we can best meet your needs. Originally from Dublin, I am a white settler living on Treaty 1 territory. I am a cisgender lesbian and I specialize in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly gender-questioning and transgender young people. As a queer mother, I also support other parents and would-be parents in navigating the unique challenges of making our families.

There have been times in my life when I was convinced that I was the problem; seeing myself this way led to a great deal of confusion, hopelessness, loneliness and desperation. A turning point for me was discovering the statement, “the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem”; this principle helped me to separate problems from my sense of who I am, it eased the burden of blame and judgment; helped me to take new responsibility for the challenges I was experiencing, and reminded me that along with challenges I have also engaged with skills, values, hopes, commitments and aspirations.
