Life's difficulties call to us to craft a story for ourselves and not just any story will do. One-size-fits-all therapy runs the risk of oversimplifying problems, ignoring injustice and social context, and putting us in boxes. I bring 20 years experience to working with youth and adults in a way that values kindness, open co-created conversation, humility, storytelling, growing the strength of our own voices, and what it looks like to 'do justice' to ourselves and others. I am highly skilled at listening to the parts of the story that matter the most and I will work closely with your goals and interests.

Therapy can be an important tool to help people to connect not only to each other, but also to themselves. We as human beings desire to be deeply known by our friends, partners, family and the communities we belong to, but we also long to know ourselves and live not only to survive, but to thrive in our own skin.

Are you a parent looking for therapeutic support that truly understands the unique needs of children and youth? Whether you’re seeking therapy for your child or guidance for yourself in supporting their mental health, I’m here to help. We often say “it takes a village,” and sometimes that village needs to expand, especially when your child is navigating challenges such as: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotion regulation difficulties, transitions, grief, school struggles, self-harm, suicidal ideation, or family conflict. Asking for help takes tremendous courage, and I’m here to honor that step and walk alongside you both.

I believe people are resilient and at any time can need support with life challenges. I see clients with a range of experiences that may be impacting their relationships, ability to feel good about themselves and currently flourish in their lives. It is always my goal to create a safe environment for clients to work through issues past or present that keep them from achieving a full quality of life and in having the relationships they are seeking. I work collaboratively with clients on what is important to them, helping people achieve inner stability and move forward in their lives.

Are you in the process of understanding who you are? Or working on making things feel easier for yourself? Welcome! I work with people just like you to empower, understand and nourish their rare and original intricacies. I act as a collaborator to support clients in finding tools that are attainable and accessible. I work to create a safe landing to be witnessed, seen, and imperfect. Every part of you is welcome here. I believe that healing is nonlinear and that everyone is entitled to process and cope with their lives uniquely; there is no one right way.

Therapy is about talking through life's stressors, but that's only the beginning. When you develop a relationship with a caring, attuned therapist you will find new ways to solve problems, heal old wounds, and change the way you live your life. I aim to create a space free of judgement where you will feel supported, heard and validated. I believe in meeting people where they are at while taking into consideration your physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being. I pull from evidence-based strategies such as self-compassion, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and somatic therapy.

Finding a therapist can be a daunting task, especially if you are new to therapy and not sure how to find the right fit. My goal is to offer you a safe space to determine what you hope to gain from therapy and how we can best meet your needs. Originally from Dublin, I am a white settler living on Treaty 1 territory. I am a cisgender lesbian and I specialize in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly gender-questioning and transgender young people. As a queer mother, I also support other parents and would-be parents in navigating the unique challenges of making our families.

Accepting new clients! A warm welcome, I'm glad you're here. We all deserve to be seen, heard and valued. It takes strength to lean into connection during moments of suffering. Therapy can be a space for that connection, can aid in undoing the aloneness we may feel in the world and can help us reconnect with the wisdom we all carry. I offer a compassionate, supportive space that invites you to deepen your understanding of yourself, your nervous system, your inner landscape and how you move about the world. In our work together, you are the expert on you and your lived experience. I provide the space for innate healing to occur.

There have been times in my life when I was convinced that I was the problem; seeing myself this way led to a great deal of confusion, hopelessness, loneliness and desperation. A turning point for me was discovering the statement, “the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem”; this principle helped me to separate problems from my sense of who I am, it eased the burden of blame and judgment; helped me to take new responsibility for the challenges I was experiencing, and reminded me that along with challenges I have also engaged with skills, values, hopes, commitments and aspirations.

I would love to work alongside a client who has experienced or is experiencing some struggles and now feels ready to create something different for themselves. Whether that be through acceptance, change, or simply creating a deeper understanding, a client who is open to exploring what their personal healing journey means to them would be a great fit for the therapeutic approaches I find most enjoyable and effective.

My current clientele are both youth and adults, particularly those who have survived trauma and abuse, whether one-time experiences, or over months or years. I have found particular success in working with young clients who self-harm as a result of dealing with trauma. My clinical goal is for each of us to better understand trauma's effects on their current behaviours and outlook on life, and then to develop, together, practical solutions to deal with those effects, allowing them to move forward in life.
