I provide therapy services to adults who are looking to make positive changes in their lives by developing their strengths and devising new strategies to deal with recurring problems. I recognize that therapy can be emotionally-intense and I aim to create a comfortable and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel free to explore and discuss their difficulties. I work most often with clients on the treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship issues and difficulties related to self-esteem.

My training and background as a psychoanalytically oriented therapist looks at the mind that is in conflict with itself. These conflicts can lead to all sorts of symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, lack of self-esteem, self defeating behaviours and body shame. By making sense of the unconscious and its defence mechanisms, you can begin to heal from past experiences, improve current relationships and develop a more fulfilling relationship with yourself.

During my last 20 years of working as a psychologist I feel comfortable to work with people who struggle with: Anxiety, Depression, Maladaptive Anger, inter-relational conflicts, Borderline Personality Disorder, low self esteem /confidence amongst other psychological struggles.
Analogy for therapy: Psychologist and patient are shovelling together. The more we shovel the more we discover. No forcing. not imposing. Some findings may hurt, some will alíviate. We stop when you decide. Hoping you found what you were looking for. Therapy is a confidential place to get to know who you are but also to find out who you would like to be.

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
