Something feels off — maybe for a long time. If you're carrying the weight of losing someone, we offer EMDR and IADC (Induced After-Death Communication) — a focused, two-session therapy for grief and loss. Underneath, there's often grief, loss, anxiety, or trauma quietly shaping your relationships, life transitions, and sense of self. This deeper grief work is delivered alongside trauma-informed care, online across Ontario and in person in Montreal (Île-des-Sœurs). This work can be truly transformational. You don't have to keep carrying this alone.

I am a psychologist who specialises in psychological distress (e.g., depression, anxiety, unhelpful patterns of behaviour), as well as in health psychology for medical conditions (e.g., cancer).
We all go through difficult moments in life – it is one of the core truths that connects us all. Often, when we find ourselves in these tough situations, we get stuck in the “Why me?” This is a very human response, the desire to understand why something happened. While we may never know the absolute, full answer to this question, we can certainly obtain clarity on why we behave in certain ways, get caught in particular patterns, and fall into thinking traps. To move towards asking “What next?”, let us work together on figuring out how you can cope, regain trust in yourself, and find meaning once more.

From the outside, your life may seem fine, but internally, things don’t feel right. You might notice a quiet sense of unease, repeating dynamics that no longer serve you, or a growing distance from parts of yourself you once felt connected to. You don’t necessarily feel overwhelmed or at a breaking point, but you know you’re ready for something to shift. I support adults who are exploring questions around identity, relationships, boundaries, and self-confidence, especially those who have learned to minimize their own needs over time. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and practical, offering a space that feels authentic.

Life transitions, grief, caregiving, and relationship stress can leave us feeling untethered, disconnected, and unsure of how to move forward. When life feels heavy or uncertain having a steady space to feel understood can matter deeply. I work with adults and couples navigating emotional overwhelm, communication challenges, relational impasses, and periods of change or loss that can feel complex. My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and informed by narrative, strength-based, and solution-focused perspectives. I offer a space that is warm, attuned, and steady, while also gently guiding our work with intention.

My passion is human cognition—how people think and process information. My work focuses on neuropsychological diagnosis and intervention. I use comprehensive neuropsychological testing to understand how clients use their memory, attention, intellect, and other cognitive abilities. In other words, I work to understand how you process information so that you can better understand yourself. Together, we can develop strategies to optimize your strengths or compensate for areas of difficulty. My approach is grounded in research, and I stay current with emerging interventions. The length of our work will vary depending on your goals.

Therapy can help people better understand themselves and find greater meaning in their lives. People enter therapy for a wide range of reasons, often involving difficulty solving a problem in their lives on their own. Some people, for example, are having difficulty in a romantic relationship and wonder how to improve the relationship, or end it. Other people experience conflict or anxiety in a wide range of interpersonal relationships and enter therapy as a means of improving their communication skills and the quality of their relationships. I help people in both monogamous and polyamorous relationships.

How does cancer affect mental health?
A cancer diagnosis is a major life event that can significantly influence the mental health of any individual. Being diagnosed with cancer often introduces a sense of uncertainty about the future, which can cause clients to experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, and significant distress. Many cancer patients may also worry about the toll that their diagnosis may have on their family, their physical health, their job, and their financial situation. The compounding of such stressors can also decrease mental health in clients and may lead to additional symptoms that can influence mental health, such as sleeping difficulties or social withdrawal.

What is the best psychological therapy for cancer patients?
The best type of psychological therapy for cancer patients is highly dependent on the needs of the individual. The therapy type that a client benefits from may also depend on what stage of the cancer journey they are in. Recently diagnosed cancer patients, for instance, may benefit from therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which can help clients develop skills to manage the emotional distress that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Alternatively, cancer patients further along in their journey may benefit from therapies like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or other forms of mindfulness therapy to help manage symptoms or physical pain associated with treatment. Clients may also consider group therapy, which offers cancer patients an opportunity to receive support from other individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Are there any risks or drawbacks in going to therapy while dealing with cancer?
Although attending therapy while dealing with a cancer diagnosis can be helpful, one major concern for cancer patients can be the financial cost of seeking therapy. Many therapists are out-of-network, meaning they do not accept insurance, and thus clients are expected to pay the entirety of the session fee. Since many cancer patients may be out of work as a result of their diagnosis or cancer treatment regimen, the costs of therapy sessions can be substantial. Luckily, many cancer centers and local clinics may offer free or substantially reduced-cost counselling services to cancer patients and their families. In addition, cancer patients may be eligible for grants or other forms of funding from local agencies and nonprofits to seek therapy for their cancer diagnosis. Such opportunities can be very helpful for cancer patients, as they allow clients to obtain the benefits of therapy without the financial strain.

How long does cancer therapy typically last?
The length of cancer therapy depends on the needs of each client. In some cases, cancer patients may only require therapeutic support during the period following their initial diagnosis—to help manage the uncertainty and shock of a cancer diagnosis. In other cases, clients may choose to receive therapy throughout their treatment, and even following, their cancer journey. Pursuing therapy for a longer period of time can help clients develop a deeper relationship with their therapist and provide opportunity to process the challenges presented by cancer treatment, such as physical pain, and challenges associated with cancer survivorship, such as ongoing identity concerns, physical limitations, or relationship challenges.
