You may be an adult experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, or the lasting impact of trauma, feeling stuck or overwhelmed by life transitions. You might be questioning meaning, identity, or direction—often during midlife, migration, or relational challenges. You seek a deeper understanding of yourself and the patterns shaping your emotional life. I view those who come to therapy not simply as clients or patients, but as individuals navigating personal suffering in a complex world. My work supports the growth of self-awareness and the exploration of underlying difficulties that may limit one’s sense of agency and potential.

Complex trauma often shows up as Borderline Personality Disorder traits, social anxiety, emotional reactivity, shame, and difficulty trusting others.
I specialize in complex trauma using EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS), approaches that work directly with the nervous system and the parts of you shaped by past experiences. This allows us to resolve trauma at its root, not just manage symptoms, reducing emotional reactivity, shame, and internal conflict while building genuine stability and self-trust.

Therapy for anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional healing in a safe, supportive space. Many of the clients I work with are adolescents, young adults, and adults who appear to be managing well on the outside, yet feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or stuck on the inside. They may be navigating anxiety, low mood, body image concerns, relationship stress, trauma, or major life transitions, and are looking for a space that feels supportive, understanding, and non-judgmental. They want relief, clarity, emotional balance, and practical tools to help life feel more manageable.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety or depression, relationship problems or more serious mental suffering (often labelled BPD or NPD), this approach may be of service to you in both its theory of mind and as a psychotherapeutic relationship experience.
What this means is that in our sessions, I will use both my training as well as my own experience on the couch to offer you a specialized form of listening. In this approach, symptoms are viewed as meaningful, so we will essentially try to translate and solve a mystery together, with the goal of helping you get to know and befriend more parts of your mind.

I treat anxiety, depression, ADHD, addictions, anger, relational difficulties, borderline traits, and low self-esteem.
As a psychologist and author, I view therapy as a collaborative process. Analogy for therapy: We dig together. The deeper we go, the more we discover. There is no forcing, no imposing. Some discoveries may hurt; others may bring relief. We move at your pace, and we stop when you decide. Therapy is a confidential space to understand who you are and why, but more importantly, to explore who you would like to become. I am an active listener. I question, I challenge, and at times I confront. I engage fully, always with respect and strong ethical care.

Borderline Personality (BPD) Counsellors
What is the most successful approach to treating borderline personality disorder?
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is considered the gold standard of treatment for borderline personality disorder. An evidence-based treatment, it addresses the extreme emotional reactivity, the relationship difficulties, and the acts of self-harm that create so much distress for BPD patients. DBT is a comprehensive program that includes both regular individual psychotherapy sessions and weekly group sessions of skills training.

What happens in treatment of borderline personality disorder?
Treatment typically consists of weekly individual therapy sessions that last an hour and group skill-focused instructional sessions that may last up to two hours. Patients are typically given homework “assignments” in which they are asked to practice in their daily life the skills they acquire in therapy. Patients also keep a diary tracking their emotions and impulses as a way to know which situations are most problematic and to help them gain control over their own behavior. Difficult situations and feelings are typically reviewed in therapy sessions and more constructive solutions found.

What kinds of problems does BPD treatment help with?
DBT was initially developed to dampen the self-destructive impulses of chronically suicidal patients. It is now the treatment of choice for borderline personality disorder, a serious condition marked by extreme emotional reactivity, relationship instability, and self-injurious behaviors. Treatment of BPD helps patients tolerate the flux of emotions without acting on them, often with a specific focus on tolerating negative emotions. DBT addresses the core problems of BPD—fear of abandonment, low self-esteem, and impulsivity.

What is the goal of treatment in borderline personality disorder?
The goal of treatment for borderline personality disorder (BPD) is to relieve the extreme emotional distress that patients experience—to curb their emotional reactivity, to minimize their inclination to self-harm, and to reduce their impulsivity. Toward these ends, patients are not only taught an array of new coping skills and techniques for emotional regulation, they are given opportunities to practice them. Another major goal of treatment is interpersonal effectiveness; patients learn and problem-solve ways to effectively communicate in relationships, especially how to ask for what they need as a way to minimize hurt feelings.
