I work with people feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected; often navigating sick leave, breakups, infidelity, grief, or identity shifts. My clients may not always have clear goals, but they long to feel more at home in themselves. I offer a grounded, compassionate space where emotions and bodily sensations can be safely explored. Together, we slow down, listen inward, and support healing that is honest, embodied, and real.

I work with clients presenting with numerous concerns including anxiety, intrusive thoughts, stress management and postpartum/perinatal mental health by proving opportunities to expand perspective taking capacities using psychosocial interventions and techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT) to support your therapeutic goals.
My priority is to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment in which thoughts, feelings, and behaviours may be explored in ways that help clients gain self-awareness, and in turn, offer insights on objectives and how to achieve them. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), I set my sights on helping clients achieve balance and well-being as they navigate personal challenges and aspirations. I offer insurance receipts for counselling through the CCPA (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association) and for naturopathic/naturopathy services through the ACNN (Academy of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists of Canada)

I believe that times of hardship and difficulty can often provide opportunities for personal growth by leading one to take stock of one’s priorities, values, perceptions, relationships and environments; to replace dysfunctional coping strategies with more effective ones; to reevaluate and explore one’s goals; to discover what gives one’s life greater meaning and satisfaction, and to uncover one’s strengths and capacities. As a clinical psychologist (Ph.D) with extensive experience and training, I am dedicated to helping my clients realize their goals and explore opportunities for personal growth.

My approach draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, psychodynamic concepts, family systems theory, as well as attachment-based and trauma-informed frameworks.
Hello, I am glad you're here. I hope that you find what you’re looking for and, if you'd like, perhaps I can lend you a helping hand along the way. I believe that nurturing a deeper understanding of ourselves, others, and the contexts we live in; recognizing the parts that we can and cannot change; and grieving what we should have received but didn't, can allow us more meaning and contentment as we move in life. I hope to accompany you in your process, whether you feel stuck in repeating patterns, are facing difficult situations, and/or are trying to find balance and fulfillment in the various roles you hold.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
