Additional expertise included Sleep Disorders / Insomnia, Mood & Anxiety Disorders, ADD / ADHD, Trauma-Informed Care, Addictions, Substance Misuse & other Compulsive Behaviors, Sexual & Rel’n Issue.
My approach to therapy is evidence-based, interactive, relational, & motivational. My belief is that the relationship between the therapist & client is what is most healing & helpful in therapy. I strive to create a comfortable & supportive atmosphere where difficult issues can be addressed. When people feel supported & understood, they are often more able to face challenges. I help clients become more aware of the obstacles which prevent them from leading more satisfying lives & improving their relationships. Sometimes that may involve exploring past experiences and/or it may involve learning new concrete coping skills.

Over time, this can wear down confidence and your sense of self, disrupt sleep, impact relationships and make you feel like you are not in control of your life.
My approach is informed by CBT and mindfulness-based strategies. But first, we build a foundation of genuine understanding through deeper exploration. I specialize in anxiety issues, sleep issues, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and grief. While I conduct sessions in English or bilingually (EN/FR), I also speak and understand Italian and Spanish.

Hi, I’m Chloe, a counselling intern completing my master’s degree in counselling psychology at Yorkville University. I believe counselling can be a space to slow down, tune in, and make sense of the parts of ourselves that often go unheard. My role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and non-judgment as we explore what healing and growth might look like for you. My emerging practice is grounded in a commitment to social justice and equality, and I strive to create a space where all aspects of you are welcomed and supported.

I work with clients ready for profound transformation through direct, uncompromising exploration. My approach integrates psychological sophistication with artistic sensibility, moving beyond performed patterns into authentic being. I specialize in depersonalization, sexual complexity, and those who sense they're 'beyond' conventional understanding. My style is unapologetically honest - if you're seeking comfortable validation, I'm not your therapist. But if you're ready to meet yourself with fierce honesty and sovereign grace, let's work.

Whether you are struggling with a long-standing issue or are in acute distress, you will find me to be an empathetic counsellor who will take the time to learn about your particular story in order to best support you. No two people or two situations are alike and therapy must similarly be tailored to the individual's needs. I will do this by first meeting you where you are and working at your pace to move in the direction you see for yourself. In the process, you will develop alternate perspectives and learn techniques to challenge self-defeating thoughts or behaviours that hold you back from living authentically.

Sleep or Insomnia Counsellors

How effective is treatment for insomnia?

The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?

There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?

There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?

Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
