Emotionally Focused Therapy, my primary model, has been shown in research to lower distress in 90 percent of couples.
Our close relationships hold the key to tremendous comfort and wellbeing. In times of conflict or disconnect, we suffer. My work is focused on helping my clients return to wellbeing through connection and feeling safe in their important relationships.

My work is empowering, emotionally focused, collaborative, and non-judgmental.
I am a registered Psychotherapist and Social Worker in QC. I subscribe to the idea that suffering is a natural part of the human experience; we suffer and experience discomfort so we can cope and grow. It is possible however that we can exceed our threshold of suffering and our normal coping mechanisms are no longer sufficient. This is when our discomfort begins to feel like pain, anxiety, and depressive thoughts and is no longer beneficial to our growth. I like to think of my role as the collaborator and support system for times like these.

Couples often get stuck in painful, negative patterns and the approach I use, Emotionally Focused Therapy ( EFT), provides a map to help them move out of the same old argument into a new way of relating, with more depth, vulnerability and connection.
I work with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, couple conflict and distancing, poor communication, infidelity and differences in parenting. I have a special interest in helping couples heal and restore their bond after a relationship rupture.

My preferred model in working with couples is Emotionally Focused Therapy (www.iceeft.ca).
Life sometimes imposes overwhelming challenges that cause us feel lost and believe there is no choice but to suffer. When we are in the midst of a crisis it is not always easy to see a way out. However, in these circumstances, there is often an opportunity for personal growth. It is at this time that a professional may help you identify inner obstacles preventing you from moving forward and experiencing life to its fullest. I see my role as helping clients with that. My clinical practice focuses on individuals and couples from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, and depression.
