Many of us face times in our lives when we need support to get through difficult periods. I see psychotherapy as a safe space to explore yourself, gain self-insight and understanding, and develop tools and resources to face the ups and downs of life. Since 2011, I have had the chance to work with adults with various needs and challenges. I have supported clients to work through relationship difficulties, repetitive patterns that were no longer serving them, anxiety, depression, painful emotions related to present or past events (including traumas), self-esteem issues, grief and loss, and adjustment to chronic illness.

My practice began in youth drop-out prevention and evolved into a life’s work focused on supporting adolescents, young adults , and adults to overcome difficult life challenges including anxiety, depression, stress, feelings of low self-esteem, relationship problems, eating disorders, and trauma.
Each of us is resilient and capable of creating change. Often all we need is someone to listen, guide and help us on the way. I am a licensed Psychologist, educator, and a member of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. My 25 years of experience have taught me that the relationship between the client and the therapist is at the core of effective and successful therapy. A strong therapeutic bond leads to trust, growth and healing. With this guiding principle in mind, my aim is to create a safe space to work authentically with you while you take steps toward meaningful change.

I have experience with the neurodivergent population (young adults and older adults ), with kids (I am certified in CCPT, an approach for kids) and with adolescents.
I am a Drama Therapist, which is part of the Creative Arts Therapies. I use theatre techniques and games in a therapeutic framework. These tools help to access the subconscious mind, bringing issues to consciousness to be worked out in a safe and comfortable way. Also, I help you improve/acquire many skills and a great variety of things to achieve a state of mental and spiritual well-being. I'm also a vibrational therapist, restoring your mental health by working at the issue's source. These 2 approaches qualify me as a holistic therapist, assessing and working the situation as a system, a whole, bigger than the sum of its parts.

my work experience includes working with children, adults and seniors in different settings like child psychiatry, couple & family therapy, mental health and refugees.
I think that we're all on a journey to self discovery and it should be a reasonable goal to accomplish during our lifetime. However, some of us have legitimate reasons to keep putting it off and some of us didn't have enough care and support to place them on the right path to it. With some help, each of us will be able to walk their own journey. I could help you understand your past and how it got you to where you are today, and walk with you to the source of negative feelings and thoughts that may be affecting you, your relationships, studies or work; to help you process them.

I have successfully helped adults suffering from a variety of difficulties including depression and anxiety by helping them to change the way they live their lives and react to stress.
From time-to-time all of us have to deal with personal problems. Often we are able to resolve them on our own but occasionally we need to seek the help of a qualified professional. As a licensed Psychologist, I have extensive experience in psychotherapy and counselling. I can help people to overcome adversity in their lives and change things that stand in their way. I make special efforts to tailor my approach to the individual in the room, in order to maximize the potential that clients will be engaged and active participants in their therapy.

How can I find a therapist in Montréal?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

How much does therapy cost?

Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $300 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
