Navigating through life, relationships, or loss can feel hard and isolating. It does not have to stay this way. Are you in a new or established relationship, wondering why you aren’t feeling happy? Perhaps it's difficult to talk with or be heard by your partner(s) and you keep having the same disagreements over and over again. Maybe you’re feeling more stress and
anxiety
day-to-day than calmness, peace, security or confidence. Have you experienced a life changing loss, and find yourself grasping for air beneath the depths and unpredictability of grief and sorrow? If you recognize yourself, you are at the right place.

In addition to relational issues, I help people cope with depression,
anxiety
, stress, burn-out, losses, illnesses, and self-esteem.
Therapy can help people better understand themselves and find greater meaning in their lives. People enter therapy for a wide range of reasons, often involving difficulty solving a problem in their lives on their own. Some people, for example, are having difficulty in a romantic relationship and wonder how to improve the relationship, or end it. Other people experience conflict or
anxiety
in a wide range of interpersonal relationships and enter therapy as a means of improving their communication skills and the quality of their relationships. I help people in both monogamous and polyamorous relationships.

Would you like to stand in your power, be more in control of your life? To solve a problem, Einstein said you must first change the mindset that created it. It starts “within” you! Having worked with thousands of clients over 17 years, I’ve observed that we have 2 voices in our head - the conscious and subconscious minds. When your 2 voices don't get along, it feels like a battle is raging within, and it’s this gap that causes your
anxiety
, depression,
fears
, and emotional struggles; but when your 2 voices align in harmony, you experience inner strength, joy, passion, your TrueSelf, and feel energized in the pursuit of your desires.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
