I work with adults and adolescents, particularly those navigating ADHD, autism, learning differences, or twice-exceptionality.
We focus on building routines, managing energy, setting boundaries, and improving focus and follow-through. Sessions are collaborative and practical, with concrete strategies tailored to your daily life. Drawing from my background as a Registered Yoga Teacher, I also integrate mindfulness, breathwork, and body-based tools when helpful.

Are you looking for a deeper exploration of what keeps you stuck or in a repeated pattern? Often, developmental or childhood trauma affects your ability to engage in life and with others. If anxiety, depression, or marriage/family conflict make it hard to regulate, you're likely seeking lasting relief. My goal is to go beyond surface tools to free you from the negative cycles of conflict and despair. By addressing the nervous system and the roots of your distress, you'll find a new way to experience yourself and your relationships—moving toward secure attachment and emotional resilience where you feel grounded, seen, and at peace.

Through talking, movement, play, and creativity in the presence of a trusted drama therapist, any adult or child can explore the personal and societal dynamics within their life along with the relationship between mind and body to create a balanced healing process.
The approach I take uses drama therapy through a (w)holistic and humanistic lens to help someone examine, express, and process the many stories of their life: past, present, and future. These stories may be of societal harm, interpersonal struggles, family dynamics, inner strength, and countless other chapters that are written in our own histories.

Thinking "I'm exhausted, I'm tired of feeling this way, and I don't know how to fix it" is a heavy way to live. When you are caught in a repeating loop with your partner, or quietly battling an impulse that feels impossible to live with or break free from, those thoughts can completely take over. You might be having the exact same argument over and over, desperately chasing after a distant partner, friend, or co-worker or pulling away to avoid being swallowed up. If you are carrying a physical tension in your body that leaves you disconnected from those you love, let's step out of the loop.

I help moms with postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, perinatal OCD, birth trauma and traumatic perinatal grief with EMDR therapy. The pregnancy journey and postpartum season hits different when conceiving and birth didn't go as planned. If the thought of getting pregnant again is terrifying (even though you truly want to), you catch yourself checking 100 times if the baby is still breathing, are terrified of viruses, or feel like you're reliving your difficult pregnancy or birth experience through nightmares and intrusive thoughts, know you are not alone.

Glad to have you here — maybe we can find out if I’m someone you’d like as a part of your support system. It would be my gladness to collaborate with you in finding what you need to reach your therapeutic goals. In every case, I will respect your judgement about what you need to move towards growth and I will always do my best to adapt the tools I bring to our sessions to suit your needs. Sometimes we’ll talk carefully through details of your past. Sometimes we’ll use art to explore new ways to face your challenges. Sometimes we’ll find it the most possible to approach the underbelly of your struggles with metaphor and story-making.

If anxiety, depression, chronic stress, or relationship issues are weighing on you, you’re not alone. Many people find themselves stuck in cycles of overthinking, emotional exhaustion, conflict, or self-doubt, unsure how to break patterns that no longer serve them. You might feel disconnected from your values, overwhelmed by life transitions, or stretched beyond your current coping capacity. I approach therapy with compassion, cultural awareness, and the belief that meaningful change begins when you feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

Reaching out for help can be hard. It is understandable to want support when dealing with difficult experiences. Deepening our understanding of ourselves and what we have been through can help identify inner wounds and create opportunities for healing, growth and connection with self and others.

I am a social worker, couple and family therapist and psychotherapist offering individual and relationship therapy. I work with people who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, and feel more secure with the people who matter to them. If you’re experiencing recurring conflict, getting stuck in negative patterns, feeling misunderstood, or noticing how past trauma is impacting your relationships, we can work through this together. When distressed, familiar strategies for getting your needs met can take over, even when they no longer serve you. Our work together involves noticing these patterns and creating more room for choice.

FAQ - About Adult Counselling
Why should adults see a therapist?
Adults may benefit from therapy for a wide range of reasons—whether it’s managing symptoms of a diagnosed mental health condition like anxiety or depression, navigating life transitions, coping with grief or trauma, or simply seeking support during a challenging life period. Many adults find that therapy helps them build healthier coping skills and better process their emotions, which may lead to better relationships and reduced stress. It’s important to note that, unlike psychiatrists or primary care physicians, therapists do not prescribe psychiatric medication. However, they will often work alongside prescribing clinicians to ensure coordinated care and can provide behavioural therapy as an important addition to psychiatric medication. Mental health concerns can look different in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence, so finding a therapist with expertise working with adult clients is important. Conditions like major depressive disorder (MDD), generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for instance, may present or resurface differently in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence. Adult-specific stressors, such as job strain, caregiving responsibilities, relationship challenges, financial stress, or identity transitions, can also influence the onset and type of symptoms an individual experiences. Adult-focused therapists, therefore, are trained to understand these complexities and tailor care accordingly.

How do I know if a therapist is the right fit for me?
When seeking care, it’s important to understand a therapist’s treatment specialties and their overall approach to treatment . Some therapists focus on common adult conditions like anxiety or depression, while others specialize in areas such as trauma, substance use disorders, or obsessive-compulsive disorder. It’s also important to consider a therapist’s training when seeking care. Therapists in Canada hold various licenses depending on their training and provincial requirements. Common therapy credentials include Registered Social Workers (RSW), Registered Psychotherapists, and Certified Canadian Counsellors (CCC). Psychologists (PhD or PsyD) receive additional doctoral-level training and may focus on assessments or more specialized therapeutic approaches. All of these professionals can provide talk therapy but do not prescribe medication. When searching for a therapist, consider their credentials and training background to ensure a good fit.

How do I find a therapist who sees adults?
Psychology Today’s online directory allows you to search specifically for therapists who work with adults. Each provider profile includes key information such as clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, licensure, accepted insurance plans, languages spoken, and session fees. Reviewing these details can help you determine whether a particular provider aligns with your needs and can indicate whether they are a good match for adult clients.
