Hello and welcome! I am a registered clinical psychologist who works with adult clients (18+ years) facing a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, self-harm behaviour, and eating disorders. I have training in a number of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). I also focus on women's reproductive health and offer therapy related to infertility, donor conception, pregnancy loss, and postpartum adjustment.

At New Beginnings, clients have the opportunity to explore their strengths and limitations in a safe, confidential, and accepting environment. We provide assessment, intervention, and treatment services to children, adolescents, and adults who exhibit symptoms of inattention, concentration difficulty, memory impairment, hyperactivity, poor academic performance, and learning disabilities. We offer group therapy programs for children diagnosed with Autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Anxiety. In addition, we offer therapy and assessments through WSIB.

I am a compassionate, understanding, non-judgmental counsellor who believes everyone has the right to wellness and balance. I'm Dr. Neda Safvati Agius, a seasoned psychologist with 15+ years in psychological testing. Formerly from Los Angeles, I moved to Durham Region in 2019 to raise my family and I'm eager to contribute to the community's well-being. With experience in test publishing, I have a unique perspective, enabling me to conduct evaluations with a deep understanding of the nuances involved in test construction and interpretation.
