I am a Registered Psychologist who is passionate about helping children, adolescents and young adults with emotional, academic and behavioral difficulties. I have been an educator and school counselor for the past 30 years and I am cognizant of the struggles that some children or youth experience in the regular school system. My experiences as a classroom teacher and school counselor have prompted a desire to work with students with learning, emotional and behavioral challenges in conjunction with their families.
Some children become very lost at school because they lack the skills needed to be successful. One of my primary goals is to help children and adolescents acquire the skills they need in order to reach their full potential and to experience higher levels of self-esteem and self worth.
As a psychologist I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution-focused therapy, Systemic Family therapy, Play therapy, and Person-Centered therapy. I also administer psychoeducational assessments which provide estimates of cognitive abilities and achievement levels. These assessments can also yield information about emotional functioning.
