As a therapist, reunification counsellor, mediator, parenting coordinator, and collaboratively trained professional, I specialize in offering a full range of therapeutic and alternative forms of conflict resolution to families in dispute. Regardless as to where you are in the lifecycle of your family or separation process, parents are assisted to identify their concerns, learn to address their needs, and to separate those needs from the needs of their children. Parents are encouraged to hear their children's voices and to embrace their roles responsibly as the adult decision makers charged with storying their children's legacy.
My therapeutic approach draws heavily from family systems theory, cognitive/behavioural therapy, developmental psychology, and trauma/attachment theory. Creating opportunities to repair ruptured parent/child relationships and building positive co-parenting relationships tailored to the individual needs of each family are often a central focus of the work.
I also have specialized training and experience working with men and women in the criminal justice system, youth at risk of out of home placement, and issues affecting adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents.
