For many, counselling can feel intimidating—sitting across from someone you don’t know, unsure of what to expect, and uncertain about opening up. I understand. That was me when I first met with a therapist years ago. What I discovered, though, is that counselling is really just a conversation—two people working together toward a shared goal. As a therapist, I desire to create a safe space for that conversation. A place where your thoughts and emotions are heard, your story is understood, and where together we can walk the path toward mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
I often describe therapy as a journey in a car. You are always in the driver’s seat. You choose the pace—whether we move quickly, take things slowly, make a turn, or sit in park for a while. My role is to sit in the passenger seat, offering tools, resources, and guidance along the way. The destination is yours, and I’m here to support you on your journey.
Ultimately, you are in control of your journey toward change. At the same time, it’s important to remember that change often unfolds gradually. It takes patience, persistence, and effort that extends beyond our time together in session.
