You're not alone if you are struggling with low mood, overwhelming emotions, or stuck in unwanted habits. It is difficult to stop worrying about the future or ruminating on the past. When we feel overwhelmed by emotions, thoughts, and sensations in our bodies, we move away from social situations and opportunities that used to feel good. We become more disconnected from ourselves and others. We feel more alone, and uncomfortable in our own skin or unworthy of love and eventually, the actions we took to help cope are now becoming a problem of their own. We all have our unique challenges and it can be difficult to manage alone.
My counselling style is warm and empathic, though I challenge respectfully as needed. I draw from ACT, DBT, EMDR with an emphasis on mindfulness and self compassion to connect mind and body. Rich and meaningful lives are built on a foundation of self-awareness, relationships with others, and alignment with a larger sense of purpose and I want this for you.

Groups
Binge, Compulsive, Emotional Eating
This psychotherapy group is designed for adults who struggle with binge eating, bulimia, compulsive eating, loss of control eating, emotional overeating and feelings of being addicted to food. We do not use weight change as a measure of recovery and we do not promote weight loss. Using a HAES, Intuitive Eating, and body liberation framework our measure of recovery includes improved quality of life, increase in self-compassion, self-acceptance, ability to manage emotions, physical health indicators and a more peaceful relationship with food and body. We will make every effort to ensure this group experience is supportive and transforming.
