As a Registered Social Worker and therapist I specialize in helping people work through trauma, depression, anxiety, and addictions. I employ an informed, yet relaxed approach to help the therapy process feel accessible. This approach helps many individuals who are new to, unsure or uncomfortable with the idea of counseling. I use a combination of therapeutic techniques, knowledge of neurobiology, physical health, and our nervous system to help people identify and challenge behaviours, reactions, and patterns they want to change or improve. This approach often connects well with first responders, military and health professionals.
I also frequently support individuals in learning to healthily process and manage emotions as well as those struggling with shame, boundaries, relational conflict and low self-worth among other challenges. I have a Masters of Social Work degree with a focus on counselling and 15 years of experience as a mental health and addictions social worker.
