Since 2003 I have been working with children, adolescents, adults and families who experience a wide variety of psychological and interpersonal difficulties. Special areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and problems related to identity and self-esteem, including issues pertinent to LGBT individuals. I also have expertise in parenting as well as issues specific to children and adolescents, such as anxiety and stress, behavioural problems, the effects of parental conflict and divorce, and school refusal.
I provide psychoeducational assessment services for children and adolescents to address difficulties relating to school and learning, classroom behavioural problems, ADHD and learning disabilities. Assessment involves the administration of a variety of standardized tests that measure intellectual ability, academic achievement, visual and verbal memory and learning, attention, behaviour, and personality.
I appreciate that the client is the expert in their own experience. I employ a collaborative approach in order to best understand their current situation, to generate therapeutic goals and evaluate progress. I strive to provide a warm and nurturing atmosphere within a climate of understanding, acceptance and respect.
