Hi, I’m Kalie (she/her). Whether you’re navigating the emotional complexity of pregnancy, adjusting to new parenthood, struggling after a loss, or somewhere in between you deserve support that actually meets you where you are. I specialize in perinatal mental health, supporting people through the full spectrum of the perinatal journey: birth, postpartum, and infant or pregnancy loss. I also work with individuals, couples, and families who have experienced violence or who are taking accountability for harm they’ve caused. I work with children and youth, and with couples and families navigating conflict and relational stress.

There are many reasons people seek therapy. Life can feel overwhelming, especially when shaped by trauma, abuse, or difficult experiences. You may feel stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Sometimes the cause of distress is hard to pinpoint & can feel vague or unclear. In session, I will help you explore these feelings with compassion, uncover their origins & find a way forward. Therapy is a process of self-exploration and skill-building, where you're not just heard but truly supported and empowered to make meaningful change.

There are times in life where the pain, grief, or betrayal becomes too big to ignore. You may not have the words yet. You may have carried it quietly for a long time, or tried to explain it before and found you weren't truly seen. I work with adults navigating many things, but especially coercive control and intimate partner violence, betrayal trauma in partners of compulsive sexual behaviour, and recovery from problematic sexual behaviour itself. These are really hard places — where people arrive exhausted, ashamed, or unsure whether what they're experiencing is even real. I see you. This is important work.

Not feeling yourself? Are you confronting a struggle that feels bigger than you are, or maybe feel like you are just about "done"? Have you wondered if life could be better or thought that you are somehow missing out? It is not uncommon for people to feel anxious, overwhelmed and uncertain about life, relationships or careers, but the good news is you don't need to remain stuck with these feelings. Allowing yourself some time and opportunity to attend to your needs can make all the difference and become life changing. If you were to ask me why you should begin therapy, my answer would be, "Because you are worth it!"

Hi I'm Lenore. I'm the right fit for you if therapy seems daunting and you need a gentle approach. Maybe this is your first time in counselling, you've had a bad experience with a counsellor, or you haven't been to counselling since childhood. I can help if you're curious about counselling but struggle to find the words to describe what's going on, through an exploration of the mind-body connection. People often describe me as enthusiastic and this comes across in my therapeutic approach as we dig deep into what is keeping you stuck.

You are worth the time it takes to heal, in whatever way feels right for you. Do you ever wonder if there's more to life? Maybe you feel an ache inside, like you have so much potential... but something is getting in the way. You might long for more clarity, fulfillment, and inner peace. But what is the path to get there? Sometimes this requires support, which can be hard to ask for or prioritize. The first step often takes the most courage - and the path might be closer than you think. . .

Have you tried therapy before but walked away feeling like something was missing? Maybe you found it hard to open up, or felt like the process moved too fast. Maybe you’ve been told to “move on” from something that still lingers in your body, your thoughts, or how you relate to others. You may be feeling disconnected — from yourself, your needs, or even the kind of life you want to be living. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. I work with people who haven’t felt fully seen in traditional therapy spaces. You don’t need to have it all figured out to start.

As a therapist who goes to therapy, I know the anxiety of getting started and the value of having done so. As many of us have, I’ve faced my fair share of adversity – from a difficult childhood, to a cancer diagnosis, and learning to live with adult ADHD (and everything in between). It’s easy to feel stressed out, discouraged, lost, to not what to do or where to turn… that’s where I come in!I strive to provide a down to earth approach and a client-centered spin on evidence-based practices including Neurodiversity-Affirming, Somatic, Dialectical Behavioral, Internal Family Systems, and Trauma-Informed therapy and techniques.

I am passionate about the process of looking at the behaviours we or a loved one are struggling with (anxiety, depression, anger expression, obsessive compulsive behaviours, phobias, disordered eating, substance use, ect) as an honest attempt of trying to protect or soothe us from pain we are experiencing. By creating a safe space in our body and the room, we can look at this pain and process it together, ultimately removing the need or purpose of these alternative behaviours. Collaboratively, I want to explore the goals that you have for the version of yourself you want to align with.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.

Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
