I specialize in anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, phobias, trauma, and identity related concerns, and offer kink affirming, sex positive, and inclusive care for diverse relationships.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you have felt misunderstood, judged, or unseen in other spaces. You may be navigating anxiety, OCD, panic, questions around identity, relationships, or self worth. I work with clients seeking therapy that feels affirming, non judgmental, and grounded in emotional safety, where you do not need to explain or defend who you are in order to be supported.

My background in sexuality; sexual health and kink has created a unique perspective in my practice.
I have supported queer folk through a variety of issues; I value creating a safe space in a rural setting for those who feel different. My practice has brought my awareness to mental health across many different socio-economic situations; court mandated appointments; and those who have been victims of crime. My professional and personal experiences led to increased awareness of neurodivergence; how it can impact our communication, relationships and responsibilities. I work with individuals ages 7+/teens/adult/elder and couples.

Asking for help can feel like a challenge, but seeking support is an act of strength and self love. In a world full of pressures and uncertainties, having a safe space to simply "be" is essential. Having someone there for you to provide empathy, understanding, and a nonjudgmental environment where you can freely explore emotions and thoughts, face your fears, and find peace and calm in the everyday. Still unsure about therapy? I'd love to have a free 15 minute consultation call with you to talk about it!

Life often brings challenges that feel overwhelming, whether it’s grappling with self-doubt, healing from past wounds, or struggling to feel connected with others. Perhaps you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, or the complexities of identity, and it feels as though you’re adrift, searching for a place of calm amidst life’s waves. I believe that while pain is an inevitable part of life, suffering doesn’t have to be. Together, we can work toward finding an anchor—a sense of peace and steadiness—even in the midst of life’s storms.

“If I really love my partner I should want to have sex with them…right?”; “There must be something wrong with me or with the relationship if I don’t want to have sex.”; “If they aren’t getting sex from me, they’re going to find it somewhere else…” Do any of these sound familiar? Do you have a running counter of the number of days since the last time you had sex, and every day that passes leads to more and more stress “it’s been too long, I’m going to need to do it soon…”

Trauma changes how we see ourselves, others, and the world around us. You may notice that you're holding yourself responsible for what happened - watching the "if only's" and "I should have's" replay in your mind. You may find people untrustworthy and feel concerned about how unsafe the world is. Maybe you're struggling with your identity, have lost touch with yourself, and feel completely overwhelmed or out of control of your emotions - maybe you don't feel them at all. Maybe it's been bad for long and you don't know how much more you can take.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Counsellors
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialised knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organisations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognise a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognise a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
