Therapy can be hard! And awkward. And vulnerable. It’s crucial that you feel seen, safe, and respected by your therapist and I’m here to bring in some levity and play to help us do the hard work. It’s important to me that you feel like an active participant and collaborator in the therapy process. Human beings are made up of all types of different stories; stories we tell others, stories we tell ourselves, some stories that are handed to us by the world without any of our say at all! Together, we can explore and learn more about the stories that make up your life and maybe write new ones!

I believe that every person has a right to make their own life choices. These choices do not always align with the values of the family or culture of which the person is part of and this can create many challenges for people. My role as a therapist is to help clients determine what they want to achieve and to support them as they move forward with their goals.

Many of us find ourselves trapped in familiar patterns that no longer serve us, hindering our ability to cultivate healthy relationships, find fulfillment in work, and maintain positive self-esteem. My hope is to help you untangle the influence of past experiences on present-day struggles. Together, we can address issues such as self-criticism, over reactions or overthinking, emotional turmoil or numbness, self-sabotaging behaviors, challenges with life transitions, and painful memories from the past. Gerardo is a registered Psychotherapist and Canadian certified counsellor with broad experience working with adult, couples, adolescents, and children. He has more than 20 years of counseling experience. He uses his knowledge & experience in psychotherapy, human relationships and human development to improve and heal a wide range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, Phobias, eating disorders, addictions; and personal challenges such as perfectionism, anger management, stress, procrastination, self-esteem, self-harming; relationship troubles on communication, intimacy or lack of trust.
