You are a high achiever that struggles with perfectionism, being afraid of failing, and believing in your self worth beyond what you give to others or what you achieve. You are used to putting the needs and preferences of others ahead of your own and are wondering if you are burning out. Do you wonder what life would feel like with more support and confidence? I'm a genuine, empathetic listener, with a solid sense of humour. I believe in the unique journey of each person. I'd love to connect with you.

Do you and your partner feel stuck in the same arguments, distant, or unsure how to reconnect? You may be caught in cycles of miscommunication, feeling unheard, or drifting apart despite wanting things to improve. Many couples come to therapy feeling frustrated, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. You might both care deeply but feel stuck in patterns that keep repeating. Over time, this can feel exhausting and isolating. You may be wondering if your relationship can feel close, safe, and supportive again. It doesn’t have to stay this way.

Our therapists often hear from clients who say, "I'm aware of what I need to do, but I struggle to take action." This sentiment may resonate with you. It's normal to feel unsure and anxious during times of crisis, family conflict, relationship issues, or any significant life changes. However, if these emotions hinder your progress, ignoring them won't make them go away. It's crucial to acknowledge your fears, pinpoint their origins, and take proactive steps to overcome them for your well-being.

In the busy, hectic and somewhat nonsensical world of today, you can feel lost, confused, or stuck. Do you find life's struggles, work or tangled relationships make you feel stuck? It is in our nature to want to improve, to heal and move forward and upward. We are wired to survive. As Rumi says, "what you are seeking, you already are." As your therapist, I believe that you have all the survival tools that you require to reshape your life the way you want it to be. In our work together, we will tap into your strengths and together we will look for options that fit best for you and your goals.

I'm fascinated in the body as truth teller and I bring this somatic awareness to our work.
I've been both the client and the therapist, and I believe strongly in the power of the therapeutic connection. It is an hour just for you; a space to find your voice, understand yourself, gently get out of your own way. I offer a relationship built on trust, curiosity, and open dialogue, where everything is welcome and nothing is off limits. My style is direct and playful, warm and honest. I bring compassion and challenge into the room, and especially enjoy working with clients who are ready for change, even if they don't know what that looks like yet.

I use an eclectic approach, pulling from relational psychodynamic, somatic, ACT, EFT, IFS, attachment, spiritual, psychedelic and existential therapy.
Experiencing loss in life is 100% going to happen—it's either already happened or it’s coming. Death, the breakdown of a relationship/divorce, partner loss, a terminal diagnosis, cultural differences, or the slow anticipatory grief of a loved one or pet fading—whatever it is, your $h!T is upside down. These things change you. You’re not who you were before & you can’t go back. Caregivers, grievers, partners, and couples—whether you’re navigating illness together or cultural differences—I’m here. We talk honestly about: death, grief, identity and meaning. No sugarcoating. Just real conversations and space to find your way forward.

If you’ve struggled with substance use, you may have encountered a lot of certainty about what you should do,and very little curiosity about why you use in the first place. You may have been told that abstinence, or willpower are the goals, even when those approaches left you feeling worse: more anxious, depressed, disconnected, or ashamed. I offer trauma-informed psychotherapy for adults with substance use concerns, grounded in harm reduction, curiosity, and respect for autonomy. Rather than starting with the assumption that substance use is the problem, we explore what it has been doing for you,and what might lie underneath

I use traditional talk therapy, emotion and somatic methods based on the issues presented and the client’s comfort level.
Difficult life experiences can make coping with daily events challenging. Some people isolate themselves in a variety of ways due to fear of burdening or not being understood by those around them. For others, unprocessed adversity from childhood can leave them feeling a disconnect from the world, loved ones, and even their own bodies. The affects can be feelings of depression, anxiety, shame and/or self-doubt. Therapy can be a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore the parts of yourself you have difficulty exploring elsewhere and get tools to help you live the life you want.

Do you want to grow in life? I believe that wisdom and creativity emerge through openness, curiosity, and reflection on your authentic experience. Usually when we experience difficulty in life, we do our best to adapt. We might push away our pain or attempt to mentally escape our situation. This may help in the short term, but our deeper unresolved issues often resurface in confusing or distressing experiences. We can find ourselves in patterns of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or confused. These patterns are not just random occurrences but meaningful signals that something needs more attention.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
