Couples
learn how to: take risks, tell the truth, ask for needs/wants, meet each other's demands; respect both self and
partner
at the same time; give, receive, and respond to feedback; identify unhealthy boundaries; improve relationship esteem.
I am a seasoned clinical social worker (1999), an EMDR/trauma therapist (2001) and EMDR Consultant in Training. My approach is rooted in an intersectional feminist analysis developed over decades of activism. I am committed to making my clients feel heard, understood, seen, and cared for while we reprocess traumatic memories. Every approach I use has come to me through a combination of education, training; experience, spiritual practice, and my own therapy. My focus is to help calm the nervous system; improve relationships; address somatic symptoms (ie pain, autoimmune disease); manage caregiver stress; and reconnect with the body.
