Welcome to Solari Counselling Services! I am brining over 12 years of experience in the field of social services and social work, with the last 6 years in a clinical setting. I offer an eclectic range of counseling for individuals and families, specializing in working with those who experience depression and anxiety, domestic violence, addictions as well as youth who struggle with emotional regulation. My clinical work is attachment based as well as trauma informed. Therefore I often assess clients from bio-psycho-social perspective taking into considerations all aspects of their lives as well as barriers they may experience in their life.

I specialize in adolescent behavior, and the maturity model for emerging adults, I am also strong in connection to my clients and will show up for you and challenge distorted or retired thoughts.
I work best with those that are open to being challenged in a fair, and warm manner. I want your messy self to show up and feel safe in your own space alongside me. I am a student of the Satir Family System's model and help the whole family grow alongside one another. I love the challenge of helping the client heal and being part of the process. My goal is to help clients associate self-responsibility with success. The Satir approach can help clients work through trauma and develop a greater sense of harmony and inner peace. I am a firm believer in therapy being client-driven and action orientated.

I am grateful to serve individuals in all age demographics - I want to highlight that the services here are not limited to children and youth. Sometimes breathing is difficult and sometimes it comes easy, sometimes weakness, sometimes strength. Your gift is great, the expression of that authentic self is Love, and Courage. Who are you? What do you want? Are you willing, at any moment, to sacrifice who you are for what you will become? Anything is possible, well designed. Express how you feel with intention. Take ownership of your daily living and express yourself freely. Therein lies your power.

“Happy couples are all alike; every unhappy couple is unhappy in its own way” this could not be further from the truth. When unhappy all experience the same pain. You feel as though you live side by side rather than together. You may sense that the love is still there, but, unable to express or accept it, so you start to doubt its very existence.

People need to know they have been heard. What do you do when your friends are tired of hearing about it, or you’ve been caught, maybe just too embarrassed to talk, or don’t know how to fix it. It’s clear you need to talk to somebody “who gets it” and offer some sounds insights. You need the psychotherapist of the “bad break up”! Or, relationship breakdown, even if it is with yourself. I work with trauma patients (military, police, teachers) and victims of infidelity, sexual abuse, porn addiction, anger.

Life isn't always easy. It's not unusual to feel hurt or confused. People we count on are not always there for us in times of need because some people reach out when upset and some retreat. This can leave us feeling abandoned or overwhelmed. Therapy uses curiosity about our inner world to become more resilient, self aware, and engaged. Not all problems get solved by random talking. My tools help you get unstuck and deepen your sense of intimacy with yourself and others. Even your first time in therapy can be comfortable and productive. Check out the articles I've published in Psychology Today and call for a no obligation consult.

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Frustrated? Weighed down by your emotions, and the stress of day-to-day life? Maybe you are facing challenges in your relationships, stress from work or home, problems from the past that just don’t seem to be getting resolved, or new challenges, like the loss of a loved one or fears about the future. Often our journey to seek counselling comes after we have tried all our go-to methods for coping, but they just don’t seem to be working anymore. You’re feeling stuck or blocked from what matters to you, and you are ready to try something different. If this is where you are, I'm glad you're seeking support.

Teen Counsellors
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
