Welcome to Solari Counselling Services! I am brining over 12 years of experience in the field of social services and social work, with the last 6 years in a clinical setting. I offer an eclectic range of counseling for individuals and families, specializing in working with those who experience depression and anxiety, domestic violence, addictions as well as youth who struggle with emotional regulation. My clinical work is attachment based as well as trauma informed. Therefore I often assess clients from bio-psycho-social perspective taking into considerations all aspects of their lives as well as barriers they may experience in their life.
Affordable and online, accepting new clients. I am a very warm and authentic therapist with over 18 years of experience working with adolescents, and emerging adults. I am a student of the Satir Family System's model and help the whole family grow alongside one another. I love the challenge of helping the client heal and being part of the process. My goal is to help clients associate self-responsibility with success. The Satir approach can help clients work through trauma and develop a greater sense of harmony and inner peace. I am a firm believer in therapy being client-driven and action orientated.
Parenting is difficult at the best of times. Add in the complexities of supporting a child or teen who is struggling and parenting becomes even more challenging. It can be hard to know where to turn to get support for you, your child or teen, and your whole family. I am here to help. I have worked in children's mental health for 18 years supporting children and youth with mental health and behavioural difficulties and their families. Together we can develop a plan to support your loved one. I will teach you the skills you need along the way.
I am grateful to serve individuals in all age demographics - I want to highlight that the services here are not limited to children and youth. Sometimes breathing is difficult and sometimes it comes easy, sometimes weakness, sometimes strength. Your gift is great, the expression of that authentic self is Love, and Courage. Who are you? What do you want? Are you willing, at any moment, to sacrifice who you are for what you will become? Anything is possible, well designed. Express how you feel with intention. Take ownership of your daily living and express yourself freely. Therein lies your power.
I am now accepting new clients. In life we all, at one time or another face situations and circumstances that challenge us in ways that can seem overwhelming, stressful and sometimes unbearable. When we find ourselves in these states, the way the we think and feel about our experiences can negatively impact our relationships, health, jobs, and our sense of overall wellbeing. The result of all of these factors can lead to the experience of anxiety, anger, and depression, to name a few.
NO Waitlist! Imagine more peace and joy in your life; returning to the vibrant, energized and excited YOU that you used to be before life started to feel hard. My clients are brave, brilliant women with beautiful hearts. Our sessions are a time for you to feel deeply cared for and learn how to give yourself the love and kindness you so generously give to others. You are magnificent and you deserve it all - to be unconditionally loved and accepted, to feel supported, desired and in your full power. We can meet virtually in the comfort of your own home or on a beautiful trail along the Grand River. Tears and laughter are welcome.
My areas of speciality include; depression, anxiety, ADHD, and managing certain personality disorders including (but not limited to) borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, and social anxiety. Other areas of focus include professional and/or workplace struggles/development including (but not limited to); procrastination, motivation, imposter syndrome, and perfectionism. My goal is to work with my clients towards recognizing and understanding exactly what is hindering their personal growth and acting as a barrier against success.
Wherever you are on your journey, I am here to meet you in the present moment and ensure you feel safe, supported, and cared for. I acknowledge that what we need sometimes is the space to express ourselves honestly and for our voices to be heard and uplifted.
Accepting NEW clients! - No waitlist! - Trauma, depression, and other mental health issues can often cause individuals to become "stuck" leading to feelings of resignation or hopelessness. It can often feel like the individual is at the bottom of a well which keeps getting deeper, with the light out feeling further and further out of reach. It can lead individuals to believe that there is no path forwards, or that any path forward is one devoid of meaning or fulfillment.
I enjoy working with women, trans and non-binary people who have had long-term mental health struggles and a history of trauma. The people I see are often struggling with understanding the impact of childhood wounds, stressful relationships involving difficulty with intimacy or autonomy, coping with the after-effects of sexual violence and/or feeling stuck in emotions such as shame and loneliness. These people may be trying to reconcile their values and desired way of being in the world with intense reactions that seem to come out of the blue. I also do work regarding gender, sexuality and neurodiversity.
Do you struggle with finding your next step or worry that the plans you made are out of reach? You want to appear confident and joyful, but deep down you are struggling with stress, and wrestling with fatigue. You might not remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready to make a change. You’re ready to let go of guilt, self-doubt, and fear. Most of all, you want to live purposefully in the present.
Many years of experience working with Trauma, Sleeping Problems, Anxiety, Concurrent Disorders and/or Severe Mental Health clients. I am a Clinician trained internationally with a different approach that seeks your Freedom, not your adjustment, your Expression of emotions, not controlling them. If nothing has worked so far for you to feel happy, give me a call.

Is your child now a stranger? Your once sweet baby grew up a bit and is now distant, aggressive, private, and a stranger. You never thought you'd see the day they'd cuss at you. It feels like a constant cycle of arguments, groundings, and harsh conversations that aren't working. They're yelling at you, you're yelling at them, and parenting just hurts right now. Nobody told you it would get this hard. Maybe it has escalated to drugs, gangs, and violence. All you know is you're afraid, frustrated, and panicked. You want your child back.

What type of mental health professional is right for me?
Some of the most common types of mental health providers in Wellesley are psychologists, licensed counselors, therapists, psychotherapists, and licensed clinical social workers, all of whom diagnose mental health conditions and provide individualized treatment.
Services offered, education and credentials vary by type of mental health professional. Each professional in Wellesley then may specialize in certain areas, such as depression, marriage counseling, or anxiety. Although many mental health providers are not licensed to prescribe medication, they may coordinate with a provider who can.
Both in-person and online therapy sessions are available from most psychologists.
