I’m so glad your journey lead you here. Hi! I'm Rebecca. For over a decade I have supported healing from anxiety, ocd, and trauma recovery journeys offering Insight-Driven Depth Therapy. This therapy aims to look deep into your psyche to explore the unconscious aspects of your mind. This also includes identifying unconscious and underlying root causes, trauma, or patterns of an ongoing condition or situation. We will identify any historical patterns occurring in your life, explore what brought them about and how to shift them to feel greater levels of calm, happiness, and security.

I strongly believe that we all have the wisdom to know where we need to make changes in our lives. We all want to live lives of less and more. Lives with less disconnection, overwhelm, and feeling stuck. Lives with more connection, communication, and joy. I work with a multitude of obstacles, including anxiety, depression, trauma, problems with social communication, emotional dysregulation, and other issues that get in our way of living more fulfilling lives. In therapy, I incorporate aspects of CBT, ACT, DBT and EMDR, building on skills and teaching new ones, while gaining new insights and perspectives on our lives.

I am a Jungian Psychoanalyst offering Jungian Analysis to individuals who want a deeper understanding of themselves. For many reasons, these persons feel emotionally in pain, conflicted or unbalanced in their inner and/or outer life and would benefit from exploring the deep rooted causes of relationship problems and unproductive emotional patterns. The direction of therapy is to look to the past and to the unconscious determinants of behaviour but also to open to the creative and positive movements of the psyche that offer a way forward even in the face of the greatest difficulties or trauma.

Feeling overwhelmed or stuck in old patterns? You may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck — even though you’ve been trying so hard to make things better. Maybe you're navigating a difficult relationship, a painful past, or an inner voice filled with self-doubt. You might feel anxious, shut down, emotionally exhausted — or like you’ve lost touch with who you are. If this resonates, you’re not alone. These are deeply human experiences. With the right support, healing is possible.

Are you interested in working with a counsellor? Of course you are, or you wouldn't be here. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated and interested in hearing different perspectives, who are ready to step into the unknown and to make some changes in their lives. If you need some support to take some new risks, I'm happy to be here to help support you and cheer you on. I'm also interested in different types of therapy, some that require me to do more of the leading. The choice will always be yours around what you think will be best for you.

I believe that families are the experts of their own experience, and that children and teens have innate wisdom about their own thoughts and feelings. My goal is to create a supportive space for this wisdom to come forward, fostering healing and resilience that extends beyond the therapy space. My individual work with children and teens is complimented by evidence-based parent consultation; equipping caregivers with tools to better understand their child's behaviour, strengthen family bonds, and co-create solutions to problems.

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
