As an internationally awarded registered psychotherapist, I help clients redefine how they live their lives. I enjoy working with older children, adolescents, couples, families as well as individual adults. I will help you to challenge the problematic assumptions and ways of being that prevent you from realizing the full potential of your life. I work from a collaborative stance that assumes you are the expert on your life and share my own expertise in helping people overcome emotional problems, troublesome habits and relationship roadblocks to help you create new solutions to what used to be old problems.
Have you experienced trauma that has left you feeling overwhelmed and stuck? Does your emotional pain get intense and lead to you shutting down? With specialties in trauma and PTSD, I understand that sometimes we reach for unhealthy behaviours as a way to cope. Through providing trauma-informed, trauma-focused, and client-centred therapeutic services, I work with you to find healthier coping strategies, as well as address the thoughts that have impacted your beliefs about yourself, others, and the world around you. Taking that first step towards change is a bold and vulnerable one, and I would like to support you on this journey.

Often in our lives we don’t take enough time to look at why we are the way we are. Whether it be feelings of anxiety that we’ve gotten used to putting up with, or constant trouble in our relationships, it sometimes feels easier to pretend we’re fine rather than really taking a close look at ourselves.
“Child and Youth Specialists” You’ve noticed that your child isn’t quite themselves lately, that they are withdrawn, and isolated, or struggling with severe anxiety. Maybe they are experiencing intense mood swings, anger outbursts, or even destructive behaviours such as self-harm or substance use. You are worried because your child won’t open up and share with you. You want to help your child, but you don't know how to. It is so scary to feel helpless when it comes to your child and to not know exactly what they need.
Throughout our lives we face many challenges; at times these can exceed our ability to problem solve and cope, even with the assistance of family and friends. At these times the professional assistance of a psychologist can be immensely helpful. I am a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience. I am qualified to diagnose and treat any mental health disorder. I am also a health/rehabilitation psychologist, helping clients address the stress and depression associated with either chronic/acute illnesses, infertility and medical treatment. For complete information on my practice please go to www.drannemchugh.com
Is your child now a stranger? Your once sweet baby grew up a bit and is now distant, aggressive, private, and a stranger. You never thought you'd see the day they'd cuss at you. It feels like a constant cycle of arguments, groundings, and harsh conversations that aren't working. They're yelling at you, you're yelling at them, and parenting just hurts right now. Nobody told you it would get this hard. Maybe it has escalated to drugs, gangs, and violence. All you know is you're afraid, frustrated, and panicked. You want your child back.
Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you is important. This is why I strive to work collaboratively with clients to help uncover your innate wellness in order to feel a greater sense of purpose in life. As a therapist, I work from a trauma-informed, non-judgmental approach and strongly believe that you are the expert in your own journey. I have a background working in relationship issues, family dynamics, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. My focus is always client-centered, strengths-based, and will tailor my approach so that it is unique to you.
Are you feeling stuck? Overwhelmed? Struggling to cope? It is not always easy to reach out for help, but you have already taken the first step by finding yourself on this website. My name is Kelsey and I am a Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker who is experienced in providing consultation, assessment, and treatment to adolescents and adults. I have experience working with a number of presenting difficulties and take on a compassion-focused and goal-oriented approach when working with clients, while also flexibly using other approaches if deemed helpful.
These days it’s easy to feel invisible, or unimportant but I want you to know that your truth matters, you are allowed (and encouraged) to take up space, and your story is one that I want to know. I specialize in helping people dealing with depression, anxiety, self-esteem/self-identity, chronic people-pleasing, big life transitions, and those wanting to set clearer boundaries with others. If you're feeling stuck in life, I am here to offer support so that you can move forward with confidence and clarity.
The past few years have felt intense, to say the least, and navigating the challenges of life can feel isolating and impossible at times. Emily, a Registered Psychotherapist is here to help. From anxiety and depression to addictions, relationship challenges, and LGBTQ+ issues she will work with you to formulate goals, conquer challenges, and learn long-term strategies for dealing with mental health challenges and daily life stressors. She utilizes a client-centred approach and strategies from a number of therapeutic methods to create a solution that is tailored to your needs, lifestyle, relationships and abilities.
I’m interested in supporting people as they move from where they are to where they want to be; working together to transition away from stuckness and suffering towards meaningfulness, connection and alignment with values.
In life we there are many paths to take; some are laid out for us, others we opt out of, and some come at a crossroads. Knowing what to do can become challenging and giving ourselves the space to explore where we are going or how we got there, can be a difficult process to undertake. Whether you find yourself lost, tired, and or uncertain, know that you do not have to come to these places alone. As someone on their own journey I understand the value of making sense and meaning of the stories we tell about ourselves, as these are the stories that will speak to how we view ourselves, others, and or communicate with the people we love.
