Most meetings are on Zoom, some face to face in Canada and Chile
I’m a fortunate man, really enjoying my life and my work. I am well, and I remember not being well; anxious, depressed, traumatized and clinically diagnosed with various psychiatric ailments. Life threw me some awful curves and I’ve experienced the therapy world as a client for many hundreds of hours in several of its forms. I have acted badly and I apologize to those I’ve hurt. I won’t indulge my humility here but I’ll be open if you ask. My practice is built in part on my personal experiences of suffering, change, and growth. I am a Registered Psychotherapist in the Province of Ontario.

Are you struggling with living the life that you want to be living? Do you seek to change aspects of your life, but struggle to bring that change into practice? Or maybe you aren't even sure if you want change, but you know that something doesn't feel as it should be? Life is full of challenges and obstacles that can make us feel lonely, hopeless, burnt out, and even guilty for simply trying to survive. These difficulties can make even the most simple tasks feel exhausting, and strip the enjoyment out of things which we normally find fulfilment in.

In life sometimes we experience "tower" moments. The moment everything feels like it is crumbling down right in front of you. Maybe you have recently experienced heartbreak or loss, maybe you are feeling unfulfilled in your career, or relationships. It feels like everything is happening outside of your control and you are trying your best to hold it all together. You might be feeling anxious, defeated, vulnerable and stuck. There is a part of you that wants to make sense of it all, find direction, and pick up the pieces to start living life on your terms, again.

You may be feeling exhausted from holding it all together—coping with anxiety, low mood, intrusive thoughts, or the lasting impact of trauma. Maybe it feels like no one truly sees how hard it’s been. You want to feel lighter, more present, and more in control of your life again. I work with people who are ready to feel differently but aren’t sure where to start. In our work together, we’ll gently explore what’s beneath the surface using evidence-based approaches like EMDR, helping you find relief, build resilience, and reconnect with a sense of safety and self.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
