I draw from evidence-based integrated therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, EFT, IFS, DBT or EMDR.
The internal story you create about your life directly impacts your mental health. When our stories feel fragmented or rooted in shame, we may feel stuck. We may experience anxiety, depression, or relationship issues that have us believing things will never change. Experiences of trauma lives in patterns of your life that you may not be able to fully name. I call my EMDR Therapy "soul work"—you process trauma at deep levels. Whatever challenges you are facing therapy gives you a clearer perspective, healthier habits and courage to move forward in your life—one therapeutic conversation at a time.

It is my firm belief that everyone deserves someone to talk to, and to pour out what has been long kept in their heart, body, mind, spirit, and soul. It is with that belief, that I offer my skills, and trained ear as a counselor, in order to help you navigate through this situation that you are finding yourself going through. You are never alone. Although it may feel like this at this very moment, you are stronger than you think that you are. Real strength, in my opinion, is being able to be vulnerable, being able to disclose a hidden problem or area of great pain, and to deal with this 'head on', and with someone who can help you.

We all experience our very own challenges in life. We don’t have to navigate them alone.

I often use Emotionally Focused Therapy in my practice.
An emotion can signal a need or provide us with crucial information about what we’re experiencing. You feel that pang of anxiety or the desire to shut down and pull away – but what does that mean? With over 12 years of experience in mental health, I work with people who want to better understand themselves and develop more fulfilling relationships. Our work can help you make sense of your experiences and develop ways to feel more connected, calm and in control. I like to move beyond talking about challenges or changing your thoughts and move with you into more deeply exploring the key moments and experiences that have shaped you.

Emotionally Focused Counsellors
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.
Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.
What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.
What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
