I’m a fortunate man, really enjoying my life and my work. I am well, and I remember not being well; anxious, depressed, traumatized and clinically diagnosed with various psychiatric ailments. Life threw me some awful curves and I’ve experienced the therapy world as a client for many hundreds of hours in several of its forms. I have acted badly and I apologize to those I’ve hurt. I won’t indulge my humility here but I’ll be open if you ask. My practice is built in part on my personal experiences of suffering, change, and growth. I am a Registered Psychotherapist in the Province of Ontario.

Life can feel overwhelming, stuck, or simply not what you hoped it would be. Whether you're navigating depression, anxiety, grief, relationship struggles or the ongoing weight of trauma, you don't have to figure it out alone. Experiences of trauma lives in patterns of your life that you may not be able to fully name. I call EMDR Therapy "soul work" where you process trauma at deep levels. Whatever challenges you are facing therapy gives you a clearer perspective, healthier habits and courage to move forward in your life, one therapeutic conversation at a time.

It is my firm belief that everyone deserves someone to talk to, and to pour out what has been long kept in their heart, body, mind, spirit, and soul. It is with that belief, that I offer my skills, and trained ear as a counselor, in order to help you navigate through this situation that you are finding yourself going through. You are never alone. Although it may feel like this at this very moment, you are stronger than you think that you are. Real strength, in my opinion, is being able to be vulnerable, being able to disclose a hidden problem or area of great pain, and to deal with this 'head on', and with someone who can help you.

Are you and your partner stuck in the same arguments, feeling distant, reactive, or shut down? Or are you noticing these patterns within yourself? Maybe small disagreements escalate quickly, one of you pulls away while the other pursues, or you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally alone even when you truly care deeply. Often, trauma and attachment wounds quietly shape how we handle conflict and closeness. Together, we slow the cycle, understand what’s driving it, and build safer communication, emotional regulation, and more secure connection.

Life can start to feel really heavy when anxiety or panic begins to take up more space than you want it to. You might notice yourself constantly on edge, overthinking conversations, or worrying about when the next panic attack might happen. Balancing school, work, or day-to-day responsibilities can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re carrying grief or the impact of past experiences. I work with women navigating anxiety, social anxiety, panic, grief, and the effects of trauma, including experiences of sexual assault or abuse.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
