Do you wonder what it means to live a full life? Do you experience times when you are not sure of the direction of your life? Do we have incredible potential as human beings that we are not accessing? These questions may be worth exploring if you are experiencing anxiety, depression, or other symptoms. The state of our life at all levels is rarely explored in therapy. Often therapy targets part of the problem but not all of the problems.

I am passionate about helping you achieve greater self-empowerment and trauma healing by exploring root causes of anger, anxiety, and low self-esteem.
It is a privilege and pleasure when individuals experience a moment of revelation or validation of their experiences, including imparting applicable skills and giving a name to felt experiences that were previously unnamed or ignored. My practice is grounded in relational psychodynamics, and informed by contemporary theories of trauma, attachment, neuroscience, intersubjectivity, self-psychology, object relations, and Parts Work.
You may feel stuck—exhausted by old patterns, or confused by familiar struggles that keep resurfacing, especially in relationships. I work with people who long for more self-understanding, emotional steadiness, and authentic connection. My approach is warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented. Together, we explore how your inner and relational worlds shape your experience, and open space for choice, resilience, and a life that feels more aligned and alive. Therapy can be a powerful shift from simply coping to living with greater attunement, meaning, and ease.

It's undeniable that life is hard. It's filled with difficulties that we don't always know how to navigate and that make us feel stuck. Another undeniable truth is that there's help / support along the way, and it's possible to feel unstuck. I view therapy as a journey helping you find healing and solutions to your struggles within yourself. My mission as a therapist is to help Black / racialized people navigate life's challenges and uncertainties with more understanding, acceptance, flexibility, and resilience—whether you're dealing with family, romantic relationships, work/school, friendships, or your relationship with yourself.

Are you or your loved ones dealing with relationship difficulties and would like to develop tools and skills to both cope with the now and move forward? I connect with clients with the belief that everyone has both immense strengths that they've already used to solve past problems in their lives, and a capacity to learn new ways of understanding their own lives, their own mind and beliefs, and their own way of acting.

My approach is trauma-informed which means I consider the impacts of life events on a person’s emotional and mental health by helping you understand how past experiences may be impacting you currently and how they may be unintentionally creating the obstacles that are holding you back.
Many people that seek therapy often describe themselves or their current experiences as feeling “stuck”. They share that they may have accessed therapy before, found it helpful, but then find themselves experiencing another “block” or obstacle that seems to hold them back from moving forward in their lives.

I take a trauma-informed, solutions focused, CBT approach to therapy.
Are you intelligent, "type-A", with a million things always on the go? On the outside you appear to have "made it", but on the inside your anxiety is crippling. You wonder if you have ADHD, you're working on 100 things at once, never seeming to be able to slow down until you crash (and then beat yourself up for resting). You start to wonder if you're depressed. Why does it feel like you're on such a roller coaster of emotions? You've tried journaling, meditating, maybe even medication or therapy, but you still feel stuck. You know you need to "love yourself", but you don't know how to actually DO that.

When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
