“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” -Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. I believe that every person has inherent worth and is on a journey of healing, growth, and love. We all come with our own challenges and strengths. However, there may have been things that have made life not okay for you and that has brought on a layer of challenges that are heavy to hold alone. My commitment is to meet individuals, couples, and families in their process of making sense of the mysteries and difficulties in which we find ourselves and to offer encouragement, comfort, and hope.

Hope is powerful and is often what helps us push forward when life’s challenges become confusing and overwhelming. Yet, hope can be difficult to find and hold on to. I cannot promise solutions, but I am committed to walking with individuals, couples, and families in their search for understanding, growth, healing, and hope. I take a holistic and collaborative approach in exploring deeper emotions and thought patterns in past and present experiences.

Healing is not about erasing pain but learning to coexist with it, finding peace and strength within life's inevitable struggles. As a psychotherapist, I create a space where healing is approached holistically, honouring the mind, body, and spirit. I believe therapy is more than symptom management; it's a journey toward deeper self-awareness, emotional regulation, and connection with one's authentic self. Healing happens in moments of presence, in learning to trust oneself, and in embracing the complexity of the human experience.

You might feel overwhelmed, stuck, or not quite like yourself right now. Whether things look “together” on the outside or not, you may be carrying anxiety, self-doubt, or overthinking. When I look at you, I see you not as something to fix, but as someone deeply shaped by your particular experiences, relationships, and context. Together, we will create a space where you can feel genuinely heard and safe to explore what’s been coming up for you, so you can begin to reconnect with yourself in a more compassionate and meaningful way.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t knowing what hurts, but it’s not having language for it yet. You might feel stuck in familiar patterns, overwhelmed by your emotions, or disconnected from yourself or others. Maybe you’ve tried to “think” your way through it, only to find your body and nervous system have their own story to tell. Therapy can be a space to slow down, listen more deeply, and gently make sense of what’s been carrying you.

You deserve to live a life that makes you feel empowered! However, often in life, there are times we get stuck and don’t know how to move forwards, how to cope with situations and in what direction to take one’s story. Not knowing what to do and how to do it can often make a person feel powerless, which can further lead to anxiety, depression, resentment, and isolation, hindering you from living a full life. I offer you a chance to take back control of the story of your life and write the narrative you want to write.

Together, we can work toward building a stronger, more cohesive sense of self while gently processing the effects of trauma, including attachment injuries, relational wounds, and PTSD. I aim to create a safe, supportive space where you can reconnect with your authenticity.

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.
What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviours. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.
Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.
How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
