I also use somatic approaches (e.g., mindfulness) to address the ways stress and traumas can dysregulate our bodies.
We all have a story to tell that is uniquely ours. These stories can include our positive experiences but also times when we're faced with challenges that can make us feel stressed, overwhelmed, and unmotivated. As a therapist, I'm committed to providing you with a non-judgmental and safe space to tell your story. Whether you're facing a life transition, the effects of trauma, or challenges in your relationships—I want to help you to discover your strengths, embrace self-compassion, and take manageable steps towards your goals. I work holistically and collaboratively to tailor to the specific needs, values, and goals of each client.

You are a deep thinker and meaning maker. You have strong values. You struggle to control or feel your emotions, chronically overextend yourself, feel stuck, and experience overwhelm. You may also be in chronic pain or discomfort. You may be neurodiverse. You’re the one who shows up, gets things done, and keeps it together for everyone else but underneath - you’re exhausted. You’ve been carrying so much for so long that you’re not even sure where to begin. Maybe you’re stuck in your head often, overanalyzing everything yet feeling more anxious, angry, confused, irritable, and sad than ever. You’re running on empty, feeling overwhelmed by recent life transitions, relationship challenges, or emotions and identity questions that feel too big to manage alone. Part of you wants to open up, and part of you isn’t sure what to say, or if therapy could even help - and that’s completely okay.

Do you find yourself struggling in a situation you were not prepared for? Life is full of challenges both expected and unexpected. It is my goal to help you navigate a path through your current circumstances whatever they may be. Loss is a particular challenge which affects all of us. It can be the loss of a loved one, an ability, a relationship, or a job. I have years of experience helping people move forward from loss or trauma. I have also worked to help young adults navigate transitions that are often a source of anxiety or depression.

My approach is eclectic and flexible, drawing from CBT, narrative therapy, mindfulness, somatic practices, EFT, and many other approaches.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming. You might wonder if it will help, if it’s worth it, or if anyone will truly understand you. I know what it’s like to sit in the client’s chair, feeling vulnerable yet hopeful, sharing the deepest parts of yourself while navigating the uncertainty of what comes next. My own experience shapes how I show up for you—with compassion, openness, and a commitment to creating a space where you can truly be yourself.

I specialize in a blend of EMDR, neurofeedback, ego state and somatic therapy to target anxiety, depression, PTSD and attachment trauma.
Are you tired of living in "survival mode"? Either feeling chronically unsettled or inexpressibly low and numb! Perhaps, something feels missing; an emptiness you can’t quite put your finger on! There comes a time when just getting by is not enough and we can no longer hide behind a smile. Change begins when we decide that "waiting for the pain to dissipate" is no longer an option. So what if you could take back control of your life and live unchained by your history? How far would you thrive if you could tailor a life of your own design, uninterrupted by stress, anxiety or pain stories?

Our therapists often hear from clients who say, "I'm aware of what I need to do, but I struggle to take action." This sentiment may resonate with you. It's normal to feel unsure and anxious during times of crisis, family conflict, relationship issues, or any significant life changes. However, if these emotions hinder your progress, ignoring them won't make them go away. It's crucial to acknowledge your fears, pinpoint their origins, and take proactive steps to overcome them for your well-being.

The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. ***ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS: IN-PERSON & PHONE/VIDEO*** We believe that there is good in every person, and hope in every situation. We have helped individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and connect. As relational therapists, we appreciate the impact that our relationships have on our well-being. We do not see clients as having something wrong with their minds that necessarily needs to be fixed. Rather, we see our clients as unique individuals, each with their own stories and perspectives, embedded in important relationships and contexts that impact them. We see strengths and we see hope, even when it feels like there is none.

I integrate diverse modalities, such as EMDR, Attachment Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing for trauma processing.
If you struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, or challenges in relationships rooted in childhood trauma, EMDR can help you heal these patterns. It can feel like you’re always on edge, second-guessing yourself, or drained by patterns you can’t break. Early experiences shape how you see yourself, relate to others, and navigate daily life, leaving you with difficulty trusting, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or a harsh inner critic fuelling shame and self-doubt. I work with adult professionals to help you explore these patterns, process past experiences, and develop the tools to feel more grounded, confident, and connected.

My work emphasizes present-moment awareness, nervous system regulation, and the exploration of embodied experience to help clients process trauma, deepen self-connection, and foster emotional resilience through body- somatic work.
It takes real strength to reach out for support. Choosing therapy is a brave step toward not only facing life’s challenges but also finding your way back to yourself. When stress, anxiety, or burnout take hold, it can feel like you're losing your footing, but you don’t have to go through it alone. In therapy, we create space for you to slow down, be seen, and reconnect with what matters most. I’m here to support you with compassion and care as you strive for greater balance, deeper self-understanding, and a more grounded way of being.

Somatic Counsellors

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
